A Columbine Shooter's Mother Tells Her Story

Awww, I just read this very interesting Essay/article/story Written by one of the Columbine Shooter's Moms Susan Klebold. It was kind of sad and touching. I felt really bad for the family as I read this. It explains about how the mother found out about the shooting and that her son was one of the shooter's. It also tells how she felt and how it effected her family and friends.

I find the shooting very horrible myself, and after reading this it kind of gives you more perspective to it.

The boy who this essay is talking about is named Dylan. Dylan helped plan the shooting at columbine and his own suicide. When I say he PLANED his own suicide, I really mean plan. He had full intentions of dying during the shooting. He did have an accomplice, but it doesn't talk much about him. In one of the paragraphs his mother talks about how she read some of his notebooks and realized that Dylan had never planed on living throughout high school......

From the writings Dylan left behind, criminal psychologists have concluded that he was depressed and suicidal. When I first saw copied pages of these writings, they broke my heart. I'd had no inkling of the battle Dylan was waging in his mind. As early as two years before the shootings, he wrote about ending his life. In one poem, he wrote, "Revenge is sorrow / death is a reprieve / life is a punishment / others' achievements are tormentations / people are alike / I am different." He wrote about his longing for love and his near obsession with a girl who apparently did not know he existed. He wrote, "Earth, humanity, HERE. that's mostly what I think about. I hate it. I want to be free…free… I thought it would have been time by now. the pain multiplies infinitely. Never stops. (yet?) i'm here, STILL alone, still in pain…."
